Thanks for taking the time to pop over to this site to read about my activites as a Parish Councillor.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Mark Thompson and I have been a Borough Councillor for Belton, Browston, Burgh Castle, Fritton and St. Olaves since February 2000.
I have previously served as a Parish Councillor on the Burgh Castle Parish Council from 2001 - 2006. During that time I served as Chairman for 4 years. I left the council when I moved out of the village.
I recently returned to the council after a number of councillors retired over a period of months. I offered myself as a candidate for selection and was more than happy to accept a position.
I have no intention of standing again as Chairman as that role is in the very capable hands of Cllr. Trevor Greenacre. I do intend to be as active as I possibly can be, respond to all summonses to meetings and make myself accessible to as many residents as possible.
I make use of the micro-blogging site Twitter and will be posting regular updates as to my activities. I welcome all feedback and would like to see as many of you as possible at the meetings of the council which occur 2nd Monday in the month at the Burgh Castle Village Hall.
